Bubbly Sea Fine Silver and Fused Glass Pendant
I have fun using fused glass in my work. here, carbonate added to the glass during firing creates the bubbles! Thanks to my friend, glass artist Gale Varland for this piece of glass.
It is combined with small molds of actual sea life that I have collected for a little beach collage, complete with a tiny cockle bail.
Silver Art Clay is made from silver reclaimed from photography and X-ray film, combined with an organic binder. It can be formed just like clay: rolled, stamped, coiled, joined, and is then dried. Then it is fired by kiln or flame and the organics burn out, leaving either fine or sterling silver depending upon the formula. It is versatile and fun to work!
