Sage Resist Fine Silver Pendant

This lovely pendant was created using a sage leaf from my garden and given a resist treatment to apply a patina.

Silver Art Clay is made from silver reclaimed from photography and X-ray film, combined with an organic binder. It can be formed just like clay: rolled, stamped, coiled, joined, and is then dried. Then it is fired by kiln or flame and the organics burn out, leaving either fine or sterling silver depending upon the formula. It is versatile and fun to work!

Note that patina is not permanent - to prolong the life of the patina, do not use a jewelry cleaner on it and avoid abrasive cleaners. Rinse with soapy water and blot with a soft cloth; avoid rubbing. And with all jewelry, apply it after all perfumes, lotions, hair sprays, etc.
