Care of Your Jewelry

Your jewelry requires some basic care in order to prevent damage, in order to give you years of enjoyment and wear. Fractures and inclusions are a normal part of many stones, often adding interest and color. Some stones are soft, and some stones have both soft and hard parts. Avoid dropping your jewelry or subjecting it to force.

To clean your jewelry, scrub it for a brief few minutes in warm water with a mild detergent. Gently dry your jewelry using a 100% cotton cloth, being careful not to snag delicate work. Commercial jewelry cleaners can damage some stones and other materials such as pearl. Always read the label before deciding to use such a product.

Store silver jewelry in a sealed plastic bag to prevent tarnish. Because sterling silver is a alloy of different metals including copper, it will tarnish over time.

A word about ammolite: it is a very fragile stone and needs to be handled carefully. Do not expose the doublet stones to heat or light. Heat can damage the bond between the stone and the cap. Do not submerge in liquid.

Do not expose your jewelry to hair spray, perfumes, make-up, lotions or cleaning solutions. Put your jewelry on after using these, not before. Soft stones, especially, such as turquoise and pearls can absorb chemicals and become damaged or discolored.

Store your jewelry separately from other pieces to avoid snagging the wire work. Avoid dropping your jewelry or subjecting it to force. This can break some stones or bend wires. I have to admit that I have dropped pieces without any damage or problem, but do be careful!

Payment

I accept payment through PayPal, check and money order. Please note: you do not need a PayPal account to pay by credit card using PayPal. There is a mechanism to pay without an account. Orders from Canada must be paid in US dollars by money order.

It is my desire that you enjoy wearing your handcrafted jewelry, after all, it comes from my heart! Your jewelry is durable and should not have any problem if it is properly cared for. If there is a problem, contact me through this site. If your piece becomes damaged by accident, I may be able to repair it at your cost. Please contact me for an estimate.

Returns

I want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. We use high quality, sturdy wire and materials in making our jewelry. If you feel that you have received a defective piece, I will accept returns of pendants, neck chains, and beaded necklaces only, shipped in the original package and with all labels intact, and in original unused condition within 7 days of purchase. Return shipping and insurance are your responsibility, and will not be refunded. Return payment of your purchase price, less original shipping and handling, will be made through PayPal or personal check. Earrings are not returnable due to health reasons.

Inclusions and fractures are a normal part of many stones, and provide color and interest. However, if dropped or handled without care, stones may break. I am not responsible for items snagged, dropped or damaged by use.

Photographs

I find making jewelry to be a natural, creative process. Not so with taking pictures of my jewelry! I do my best to get a good photo of each piece to post here. I want to accurately represent the piece you are viewing. When possible, I am including pictures taken in different light, as this can affect color and light in some stones. However, I am not a photographer (although I aspire to be something like one someday!). It is very difficult to get the true color and shine of some stones such as ammolite, Koroit opal, and other stones. Stones may be brighter or slightly different in color. Please make your selection carefully. If you are unsure about the appearance of a piece, you can contact me through this site and I can send another photograph. 

Availability

Items listed here are subject to previous sale. I sell privately and at shows, and a piece could become unavailable for a brief time before I could remove it from my website inventory. I have elected to take checks for your convenience. But, with "snail mail", it is possible that a piece you want could be sold before I receive your purchase request. And, with current website technology, it is theoretically possible that two people could place an order simultaneously. The jewelry I sell is all individual, all pieces are one-of-a-kind. In that case, the first person to complete the sale with payment would actually receive the piece, and the second would have what looks like a sale, but would not receive the item. I haven't had this happen, and hope it doesn't. If it does, my apology, and I would certainly return your payment.

Packaging

Your jewelry will be shipped in a gift box, suitable for wrapping. Chains ordered alone may be sent in a padded envelope.

Shipping

I will ship to the United States and Canada only at this time. Within the United States, shipment is made by USPS by your choice of Priority Mail (recommended) or first class. If you are concerned about the safety of your purchase PLEASE REQUEST INSURANCE. I am not responsible for loss during transit, delays, damage or theft from your mailbox. I will only provide a refund if the item is returned in the same condition that it left here, (please refer to return policy, above). Purchases made by check will be held until payment has cleared. I will notify you by email of shipment of your purchase, and when possible, advise of any delays.

To Canada, your item will be sent International First Class. You can request insurance, but delivery confirmation is not available. I am not responsible for items not received.
